April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball star from the United States, is among a select category of females who have had medals won in multiple Olympics. In Tokyo over the next several days, she'll be aiming to net her third medal alongside the first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. In addition, Ross will be aiming for her first Olympic gold. In fact, at 39, this could be her last opportunity to do so. Nevertheless she is confident that the top awards are in reach. If we do our highest or play well I feel like we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. Also, I am going be relying on a little bit of luck. Ross was born in 1982, and grew up in Costa Mesa California with her siblings and parents, started participating in the sports of the Newport Harbor High School. Ross competed in many activities while at Newport Harbor High School. She was a basketball player and also ran the track as well as her volleyball skills in the indoors as a pre-collegiate athlete. While she did well in indoor volleyball, it was clear that her abilities were higher than the average. According to her bio, she played a middle blocker and an outside hitter on the volleyball court during her high-school career. Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the national Player 1999. The skills she showed in volleyball also won her an Orange County Athlete of the Year award in 2000. Although Ross Klineman and Ross have been doing their thing from 2017 onward, the former had already been a major player on the beach scene prior to their team. She has had the chance to win numerous events, one of which was with an iconic volleyball player. From 2007 to 2013 she teamed together with Jennifer Kessy who more recently played the role of Klineman's coach. Kessy as well as Ross proved to be an impressive force on the international arena, taking home the 2009 World Championship together. The duo eventually captured a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends that won the 2012 Olympic Games in London, beat each other to take home the gold. As fate would have it Ross turned out to be Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. In 2016, the duo were awarded bronze medals at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross began her collegiate professional career playing for the Trojans of USC following high school. The Trojans were a few years away from when Ross went to the beach and became a professional. Ross's time in the Trojans was amazing. When she was a freshman at the school in 2000 she fought her way to Pac-10 as well as NCAA The Freshman of the Year accolades. She also was also an All-American. The Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four with her help. The second season of her career she was devastated by a personal loss, yet earned the distinction of being an All-American. The two years following her she led the Trojans up to the summit and won consecutive national titles. The achievements of each individual have established her place as a legendary volleyball player. She won the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the best female college player. Ross took a course in international relations at USC. Margie Ross did not get to witness Ross become the highest beach volleyball level. Ross's mom died from cancer of the breast in 2001. Ross had just become an undergraduate student in the second year at USC. Ross holds her mother dear. Margie continues to be an inspiration both on and off of the beach.
