Zoe Saldana, born June 19, 1978, was the child of Asalia Nazario, and Aridio Saldana. Her father was Dominican while her mother was Puerto Rican. She was raised by her mother who lived in Queens. At the age of 10, older the family moved towards the Dominican Republic, where they would live for the next seven years. Zoe developed a passion to dance while in the Dominican Republic.
