Paula Patton, an American actress and producer is best recognized for her performances as the main character in Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol (an action spy thriller) and Precious (a drama). Her early years were spent at Los Angeles where she came from a middle class family. The idea of instilling a love for films in her daughter was something that was a gift from her mother, she also enjoyed watching films. Paula was involved with her school's cocurricular activities and particularly awed by the dramatic arts. Paula loved acting with friends, and she participated in school productions. Hamilton Magnet Arts High School staged a variety of plays, and the actress decided acting was her chosen career. She enrolled at The University of Southern California in an intensive summer course and was awed by her experience. The program offered her a three-month contract to make documentaries on PBS. When she was able to complete the assignment well, she was able to begin working as an assistant in television documentary production. After that, she began producing documentaries. Even though she loved the work she was doing, she yearned for the role of an actress. The path to acting began when she had an unimportant role with Will Smith in the romantic comedy Hitch. Since then, she has appeared in a number of famous television and film productions.
